LETTER FROM PROFESSOR CLAUS ROXIN HONORARY PRESIDENT OF SIGLA-CP
For historical memory, we are very pleased to share with you the speech of Professor Claus Roxin as honorary President of SIGLA-CP. This speech, in his own handwriting, is unpublished and highlights the affection between German and Latin American criminal sciences for three reasons.
First of all, most of my writings are translated into Spanish. Secondly, I myself have visited most Latin American countries, giving lectures there and discussing with colleagues.
And thirdly, Latin American jurisprudence has also dealt with my theories. Just think about the Fujimori case.
Furthermore , Professor Roxin expresses the following: 3/3.1 "Our international cooperation is not a coincidence, but is required by the nature of criminal law. The legal order of modern states should provide citizens with the greatest possible freedom of action , "and at the same time, the greatest possible security. These two objectives are partly contrary. Putting them in agreement is a difficult task, which largely falls to criminal law. Without international cooperation it is very difficult to find an optimal solution."
"To conclude, I reiterate my warm gratitude. You have made me very happy!"
